Teaching Tip: Make Bible time a fun learning time! Whatever lesson, curriculum, or devotion you use, allow your child to move, ask questions, and express his views. It is okay if your child asks a question you do not know the answer to. Be truthful. Use Biblical resources to find an answer, or explain to your child that sometimes we have to have faith. We are finite beings with an infinite God.

Teaching Tip: Try to have a scheduled time of your day for Bible time. Maybe it's reading a short Bible story at dinner or before bed. Do what works for your family! We have a few short Bible times. Devotions are when we wake up, one story is at dinner, and Bible verses are before bed. We say memory verses right before bed because my kids think its much more fun to say verses than go to bed!

Teaching Tip: Help children understand the chronological order of the Bible by reading Bible stories in chronological order. Review with your child past stories to help them understand that today's Bible story happened after the previous ones.

If you are a Christian, teaching your child about Jesus and the Bible is heaven's work. It's the most important work you will ever do. Good job for taking the time to teach your child about something that isn't required by man, but is required by God!

Other Websites With Helpful and Free Resources

I cannot create it all, so I often search for Bible resources based on what my child needs. I also search for the Children's Church class I teach. The following websites are my go-to for PreK and Elementary Bible resources. I am not affiliated with these websites, but I do recommend their resources.

ChildrensMinistry.com offers many free lessons for kids that I have used at home and at church! The lessons are not part of curriculum, so I often use them as a filler between curricula, on a special occasion, or to add to my existing curriculum. There is also a shop, but I have not currently purchased anything.

DLTK-Kids.com offers free lessons that include the story, coloring pages, games, mini books, snacks, songs, and worksheets! You can choose In Order of the Bible to use the lessons like a full curriculum!

ChristianPreschoolPrintables.com has so many cute, colorful, biblical crafts for preschool! I use the free material on this website a lot to supplement other curricula. Some resources are free, but others cost. I have bought the Bible ABC Curriculum from ChristianPreschoolPrintables.com for my children to use. In my opinion this was well worth the money! My children and I loved it!
